About Dr. Walsh

Christine Walsh, MD, MS is Professor and Don and Arlene Mohler Johnson Family Endowed Chair in Ovarian Cancer for the Division of Gynecologic Oncology at the University of Colorado School of Medicine. Dr. Walsh earned her bachelor’s degree from Stanford University, MD from Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons, and completed her OBGYN residency at Brigham and Women’s Hospital & Massachusetts General Hospital. After completing her fellowship and Masters in the UCLA/Cedars-Sinai program, she has spent the last 15 years as faculty at Cedars-Sinai.

Dr. Walsh served as the fellowship program director in gyn oncology at Cedars Sinai for 9 years. Her research has been funded by federal and industry sponsors, including the Berlex Foundation, the Pacific Ovarian Cancer Research Consortium Career Development Program, American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) Career Development Award and American Association of Obstetricians and Gynecologists Foundation, federal three-year career development award from the Department of Defense (DOD), and NIH/UCLA/Cedars-Sinai Research Institute/Clinical and Translational Science Institute (CTSI) Scholars Program. Dr. Walsh has published over 80 peer reviewed publications. She has created a national presence by being an ABOG oral examiner, and by being on numerous committees in different organizations including SGO, DOD, Gynecologic Cancer Foundation, and the Foundation for Women’s Cancer.

Dr. Walsh will be joining the University of Colorado Division of Gynecologic Oncology in January 2021 and will lead our new clinical operation in the Northern Colorado, which is focused on increasing access to care and bringing gynecologic cancer care closer to patients’ homes. In addition, by partnering with the cancer researchers on campus and nationwide, Dr. Walsh will be leading the development of the Cancer Genetics Research Program in women's health with a mission to identify individuals with an inherited susceptibility to developing cancer in order to provide patient-centered care that optimizes screening, prevention and treatment strategies.
