Ovarian Cancer Patient Teaches Others to Paint | CU Gynecology OncologyJean Murr, a chronic ovarian cancer patient, teaches painting classes to fellow cancer patients

Dr. Kian Behbakht, gynecologist and advanced pelvic surgeon at the University of Colorado, recently spoke with CBS Denver’s Kathy Walsh for a story highlighting ovarian cancer patient Jean Murr. Throughout Murr’s six rounds of treatment, Behbakht learned that she loved to paint so he encouraged her to continue painting and to share that hobby with others. This September, Murr is organizing a larger session for both cancer patients and others.

Murr was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in 2007 and is now in her sixth reccurrence of fighting the disease. Ovarian cancer is also known as the silent killer because often symptoms do not arise in patients until later, less curable stages.
