I’m Kian Behbakht, I’m a gynecologic oncologist, professor and division director of Gynecologic Oncology here at the University of Colorado.

We treat gynecologic cancers – cancers of the uterus, ovaries, fallopian tubes, cervix, vagina and vulva – as well as uncommon cancers like gestational trophoblastic disease of the placenta.

We’re experts in the treatment of these. We have four board-certified gynecologic oncologists here and we provide state-of-the-art care.

State-of-the-art cancer treatment center

Gynecologic cancer treatments vary depending on the kind of cancer. We provide chemotherapy, we make consultations for radiation therapy, and we provide surgical treatment for gynecologic cancers.

We provide state-of-the-art care and have access to the best drugs that are available through the NIH [National Institutes of Health] and the NCI [National Cancer Institute] for treatment of these cancers. We run phase 1 trials for the newest and most promising drugs that are available.

We are a referral center for minimally invasive and fertility preserving options for younger women with gynecologic cancers. We perform surgeries leaving the uterus behind for future childbearing. We also provide minimally invasive surgeries for quick recovery, quick return to work and maximum function.

Study after study shows improved survival with women who are under the care of a gynecologic oncologist. If you have a gynecologic cancer, insist that you’re taken care of by a gynecologic oncologist.
